“You can’t build peace on empty stomachs”

Norman Borlaug

On World Food Day the father of Green Revolution, Norman Borlaug is credited with saving the millions from mass starvation.

According to Norman there are three barriers everyone has to go across: the technological, the psychological and the economic.

  • Agri-technology can help protect plants, breed in disease-resistance and restore the soil’s fertility.
  • Farmers should be trained in modern methods to break the psychological fear of change.
  • Economic policies should promote modern farming, which helps harvests fetch competitive prices.

Norman was bestowed with Noble Peace Prize in the year 1970.
