World Health Day: this year’s tagline is “Universal Health Coverage: everyone, everywhere”

Today (7th April) is the World Health Day and the 70th anniversary of World Health Organization (WHO).

In the year 1948, this day WHO came into existence with its headquarter in Geneva, Switzerland.

Under the sponsorship of the WHO and other related organizations, the World Health Day is being celebrated every year as health awareness day since 1950.

The decision to celebrate 7th April as World Health Day was taken by the members of first World Health Assembly in 1948. But the day came into effect from 1950.

The tagline for this year’s World Health Day is “Universal Health Coverage: everyone, everywhere”.
