
When people plant trees around their own area or in any locality to fulfill the needs of forestry such as manure, food, fruit, fibre and productive capacity it is called social forestry also known as community forestry.
The term was first used in Pakistan in 1976 by The National Commission on Agriculture, Government of India. It simply means to rebuild the ecosystem and conserve the environment.
Following are the benefits of Social Forestry:
-It prevents the productive capacity of soil.
– With the help of Social Forestry we can makes our society naturally beautiful and produce fresh air.
-It prevents soil conservation.
-Social forestry increases fruit production.
-We can lessen the effect of air pollution by planting more trees.
-It helps us in creating awareness among the people about the importance of forests.
-With the help of Social Forestry we can conserve environment.
But the social forestry is rare because of following reasons
-People lack information regarding social forestry.
-Its implementation is less.
-Improper use of government funds for social forestry.
