WHO Tips to Reduce Cancer Risk

Cancer is nowadays major health problem around the world. Every year cancer takes heavy toll of people. In Kashmir the presence of cancer patients have been alarmingly rising in hospital during last couple of years. There is an utter need of proper attention and awareness among people to reduce the risk the cancer.

Here are some ways to reduce cancer risk as per World Health Organization:

  • Do not smoke or use any form of tobacco
  • Make your home smoke free
  • Enjoy a healthy diet
  • Breastfeeding reduces mother’s cancer risk
  • Vaccinate your children against Hepatitis B and HPV
  • Avoid too much sun, use sun protection
  • Reduce indoor and outdoor air pollution
  • Be physically active
  • Limit alcohol intake
  • Take part in organized cancer screening programmes
