This brief write up is in response to the editor Khalid Fayaz’s account of violence against women folk of all ages. Men from early (recorded) period of history up to this modern age, have attacked, tortured and exploited women.
The graph of the atrocities against women goes higher and higher that proves our claim that human civilization has progressed wrong. This gender based inhumanity is not hallmark of underdeveloped countries only but the developed ones as well.
Thus we should admit that we as human civilization have failed to civilize male population on this front. If you don’t believe in this you may revisit the sources of Mr. Khalid Fayaz’s data on internet. You will find shocking data. Let me remind you here some data given in the article very briefly.
“Did you know that the violence against women is as potent a cause of death and incapacity among women of reproductive age as cancer, and a greater cause of ill-health than traffic accidents and malaria together.”
“Physical violence against women and girls is a harsh reality of the contemporary world.”
“40-55% of the women had experienced sexual harassment since the age of 15 in the European Union by the end of 2013.”
“Throughout the world 1 in 3 women have experienced physical or sexual violence mostly by an intimate partner or close relative.”
“71% of all the trafficking victims worldwide are women and girls. Among 3 out of 4 were sexually exploited.”
So, it is clear that we failed to civilize and educate male population about women rights. Yes! our all educational, psychological and sociological theories have failed. So, then why not we put Divine Formula into practice. Divine formula of segregation of sexes or ‘purda system’ which almost all religions including Judaism, Christainity, Islam, Hinduism, Budhism, Sikhism and others advocate.
No religion encourages nudity, intermixing of sexes and obscenity and it is a pity that people associated with these religions believe in the heart of hearts that this dictate of their religion is impracticable in modern world.
Tragically women are exploited by men in this respect as well by making them believe that segregation of sexes (Purda System) was against their interests and it degraded them. This was generally done under the banner of so called Women empowerment.
Frankly speaking this is in fact another masculine bait to catch the feminine ‘fish’. In this trap women happily do all masculine jobs in addition to giving birth to children, rearing, feeding and cleaning them and doing all the cooking, cleaning and managing family, the chores considered exclusively duty of women and girls.
Call it men empowerment on the name of women empowerment and emancipation. So, your religious system is the ultimate solution of the problem, let’s conclude.
