To My Motherland

Representational Picture

Dear Motherland,

Describing you is difficult. Some parts of the world once visited get into our hearts and won’t go. For me, you are one of those places where people visit once they get amazed by the richness of the land of lush beauty and architecture, by its ability to overload all the senses.

You give rise to the enthralling trees, plants, and shrubs. You are bestowed with historical and cultural heritage. Well, speaking about the culture, there are diversities of clothing, rituals, and foodstuffs. People of different religions sit together at every festival, be it Eid, Holy, Lori or Diwali. We share every nook and corner of our lives. We are united by suffering.

People living here are like any other people in the world. They are sympathetic, kind, honest, and creative. However, at the same time, they can be otherwise as well. However, nature has taught us that the only way to survive is to be united and show compassion for each other.

My land has the Himalayas clad with snow, which take the hearts of the viewers to their heights. My dear motherland, you have valleys, which sing and echo melodious, which twitter with the merry birds.

Apart from Himalayas and valleys, you are ornamented with light reflecting rivers. They fill people with ecstasy, and they seem to supply the blood to the body of the country and life to the individuals living here.

Your crust has given birth to many legends and intellectuals, poets and authors,  and the like. Here is a blend of religions, morals, rituals, sentiments, traditions and languages. The following  words best describe you:

“As my Nation stands as a lion,

Beleaguered million times, but still fine,

Stands as the epitome of bravery,

Unity of religion makes it comely.”
