Qualifying NEET is Mandatory for Students Who Wish to Study MBBS Abroad, says MCI

Indian government has decided to make it mandatory for students wishing to study MBBS abroad to appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

As per the report released by Medical Council of India (MCI), on or after May 2018, students who want to study MBBS abroad will have to qualify NEET.

“Students who qualify NEET will be given eligibility certificate. Without NEET no student will be allowed to get admission In MBBS abroad,” report reads. “The step has been taken to ensure that the quality minds should join medical courses abroad.”

Before this, the students studying abroad had to qualify Screening Test called Foreign Medical Graduates Exam (FMGE), for registration to practice in the homeland
