Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Shadab Khan Break 2 separate T20I Records

In a yet another whitewash, Pakistan defeated New Zealand in third and final T-20I by 47 runs and won the series by 3-0.

Batting first Pakistan made 166 runs for the loss of three wickets with a splendid knock of 79 runs in just 58 balls by Babar Azam. Chasing the target, they bowled out New Zealand for 119 runs.

The 24-year-old, Babar — ranked number one in Twenty20s became the quickest batsman to reach 1,000 T-2I0 runs.

Babar achieved the feat in just 26 innings, breaking Virat Kohli’s record of reaching the mark in 27 innings.

Alongside Babar, the right-handed leg-spinner Shadab Khan became the number one T-20I bowler to take the highest number of wickets in a calendar year.

In the current year, Shadab took 28 wickets in just 19 matches and broke the earlier record of 28 wickets in 21 matches took by Indian pacer Jaspit Bumrah in the year 2016.

This was 11th consecutive T-20I series win by Pakistan.
