
On 1st October 1938, Jammu and Kashmir Bank was established under Maharaja Hari Singh, the last Maharaja ruler of J & K.
Today is the 80th anniversary of the semi-state bank participation in capital by State and the public under the control of State Government.
The bank commenced the banking business on 4th July 1939 and was declared as “A” class bank by the Reserve Bank of India in the year 1976.
With its headquarter in Srinagar, the bank has 917 computerized bank branches, 1239 ATMs and 25 Cash deposition Machines (CDM) as on 24 September 2018.
