As per UN Women 5 things you can do to end violence against women and girls

Violence against women and girls is rife in the world and has been increasing every day.

According to UN Women (The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women), intimate partner violence and sexual violence are the most common forms of violence experienced by women and girls globally. They happen in all countries across the world.

Here are five tips that you can do to stop violence against women and girls:

  1. Spread the word

Make sure everyone in your community knows that gender-based violence is never a women or girl’s fault.

  1. Speak out!

Whenever women and girls are not treated with respect.

  1. Shift The culture

Positive masculinity includes being kind, respectful, emotional.

Stand with men and boys who create a new normal.

  1. Support Survivors!

Volunteer or donate to organizations that offer services to victims and survivors.

  1. Study it!

Discrimination and inequality are at the root of violence against women and girls.
