Two poems on life and rain

Rameez Ahmad

On life

A victim of feelings, loneliness and misery.
Here I stand alone amongst the cheerful crowd.

A smile for the sake to accompany.
Like a cricket to avoid the danger from the scavengers.

Fortunes that never bestowed the showers of happiness,

Upon this barn life which I lived.

I live with a torn heart broken by time,

Cracked to pieces by despairs and again by the rays of hope.

I am a bait used by the Supreme for others to prove their strength,

An entertaining, mocking being dragged to world.

Then why the heart that breaks and feelings which arise?

This was, is, and will be the question in disguise.

Among the droplets of rain

Alone in this wandering flock,
Where one is victim of the lock.
Me thinking of those days,
Which were of mine and of the none.
This golden rain and the serene calmness.
I sit besides my lawn and think of sun.
This pain of slothish emptiness,
Of the past lanes where I used to run.
The sound of these diamond drops,
I remnisate what to do and what was done.
