Karachi Tutor Bags World’s Most Dedicated Teacher Award

Cambridge University Press on Thursday declared the winner of ‘Dedicated Teacher Award’. Ahmad Saya, a Pakistani national, was named after a public vote.

Saya, an A Levels teacher at Cordoba School competed against 4,000 teachers for this title and won a trip to Cambridge University, United Kingdom, continuing professional development opportunities for his school, and a host of other prizes.

A new title to recognise inspirational teachers around the world ran globally from October 1 to December 7, 2018.

After People nominated teachers who had made a difference in their lives, a panel of educational experts chose six finalists from the nominations. Later, from January 21 to January 27, 2019, a public vote was held globally and Saya secured a staggering 80% of the vote.

Saya has been teaching mathematics and accounting at the O and A Levels for almost 18 years. He also works at Bridge School for underprivileged students and is a teacher trainer as well. He was nominated for going above and beyond for his students.
