As per the new academic rules issued by Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE), the students of class 10th and 11th in Kashmir division including Leh and Kargil districts and winter zone areas of Jammu will take admission in next class only if they qualify all the five subjects in their annual and bi-annual examination.

Previously, if the 10th class students had to pass any four subjects out of five they would be given admission in the next class.

However, the class 11th will appear first time in BOSE exams. Up to now, the Term I and II exams for the students were conducted at the school level.

All these decisions will be implemented from the current session except in Jammu where the same rules will get functional from academic session 2019-20.

The class 10th and 11th students who will be declared fail or unqualified in one or more than one subject shall be provisionally allowed to continue their studies in next higher class till the result of the bi-annual examination is declared.

“But, after the declaration of the bi-annual result, the provisional admission of all such candidates who are declared fail in one or more subjects shall stand cancelled,” reads the notification.
