
World Environment Day begun in the year 1974 as most important day of United Nation’s for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. With the passage of time it became global platform to reach more public and is now widely celebrated in over 100 countries.
It is a “Peoples day” for providing some time to take care of the earth. People can take some positive steps for conserving environment either individually or by joining some group.
The theme for 2018 World Environment Day is “beating plastic pollution”.
Every year, the host countries, where the official celebration, takes place highlights the environmental challenge it face and discuss the possible ways to address them. This year’s host is India.
