British scientists at Imperial College London have developed an affordable paper-based diagnostic tool that will help in the detection of the HIV virus.

According to scientists the technique used in HIV detection test is similar to Pregnancy test technique.

The diagnostic tool is highly sensitive; it can detect the HIV virus even when its level is very low level in the blood.

The test detects a protein called p24, found outside the HIV virus, which acts as a bio-marker of the disease.
