The world’s second largest Banyan tree in Pillalamari of Mahboobnagar district in Telengana has been put on Saline drip for rejuvenation.

The 700-year old ficus tree is being injected with a dilute chemical to kill termites. The tree is standing on drip similar to a saline drip that is given to patients in the hospital.

Officials have put a few hundred bottles of the diluted chemical at every two meter of the giant tree, whose part were crumbling due to which it was closed for tourists in December 2017.
