Representational Picture

How pleasurable days were they

No fatigue of work was there,

How much we used to play

Those school days of mine

That scolding of teacher

That class group picture!

At the morning assembly, we used to pray

Those school days of mine.

To hurry up for school

The urge to wear a uniform,

To wait, for the school bus on the way

Those school days of mine

Going to the class and waiting for attendance

The excuse for not doing homework, “notebook is not with us.”

This all was like a play

Those school days of mine.

Standing up in a queue in the assembly line

Laughing on the mic in between the prayers

Loudly pronouncing the pledge every day

Those school days of mine.

Laughing and making noises when a teacher was on the way

At arriving of a teacher, that silence we pretended

See how pretty was my day

Those school days of mine.

After wishing the teacher, those naughty things we would do

The teasing of our friends, one or two

Opening the books the attention we would pay

Those school days of mine.

The dream to grow up and go to college

We thought it will be so pleasant!

But alas! Nothing is there for me to say

Those School days of mine

The only thing that would make all fine!

Somebody, please Bring me back

Those school days of mine!
